The Halloween Ritual
The following is the ritual that we did as a group at Halloween, with these group rituals the more the merrier as each person lends strength to the spell. Cleansing was done with incense smoke, but because we were not ‘in person’ the chant at the end of this spells, should be said faster and faster whilst going around the circle to drum up the energy needed. – Enjoy!
Cast a Circle Spell
First thing that we must do is to protect and connect with each other. And the way that we do this is for everyone to cast a circle. We are going to cast a very specific circle which is a protective circle so that nothing negative that may be attracted to you by what happens in this meeting, can ever get near you or harm you.
This is possibly the most important part of this coven meeting because this is what will connect us and defend us. Point your hands/wands towards the ground and turn around whilst saying these words: You may need to say them more than once. I normally get people to say them three times as this has a nice ‘Ready, Steady, Go’ energy feel to it.
“I cast this circle, let nothing that causes me harm, be allowed within it.”
Purify and Cleanse
As normal we will all do a smudge so that everyone can remove any bad jujus or nasty energy from them.
This is a group coven ritual using the four Elements for the Success of each individual witch.
- Everyone to do a deep full body cleanse and smudge checking all are clear.
- Cleanse your tools and light the candle.
- Cast the circle with the words
“I cast this circle to achieve success”
We need to use a generalised intent to not block the other’s success goals. The best way for most of you is to cast a circle in a success colour. However some might be colourblind and need a number – if so use that number in your casting.
- Group together all the people who associate with Earth, Air, Fire and Water as they will be working on their particular element for the benefit of the others.
- Each group stands in the direction point of the Grove and facing it as follows
Earth is North
Water is West
Air is East
Fire is South
Then we call in the spirits of each point saying
“I call the spirits of the North (or ‘x’) to Join us here and empower this rite of success”
When all the spirits have joined we can begin:
- Each person to write their goal for success in the PRESENT tense ‘my business is flourishing’ or ‘my ability to heal is effective’ You can write this on paper or on a bay leaf/cinnamon stick or whatever you choose.
We start with Earth
- Everyone faces North and holds their success on the earth object they have chosen saying:
“Spirits of Earth ground our efforts with stability and growth”
- Air: All face East and wafting their success through the incense say:
“Spirits of Air breathe clarity and focus to our goals”
- Fire: all face South and pass your success note (briefly or near to) the candle flame
“Spirits of Fire ignite our drive and burn through to success”
- Water: all face West and sprinkle a few drops of water on your note saying
“Spirits of West flow with us towards our desire”
We need to drive the energy forwards now, so placing the success note in the centre we all round the circle saying three times:
Witches joined at Summer’s End,
From sacred circles our magick we send.
Powers of Water, Air, Earth and Fire,
Open the paths of Success we desire.
Each dream will unfold in one turn of the Wheel,
Thrice spoken and burnt, this spell we now seal.
Concluding the rite:
Each group to thank each element in turn with these words:
“We hail the Guardians of the ‘X’, thank them for their ongoing help with this rite and bid them farewell”
Each witch to keep their success note safely for the coming year.
