So, grab your broomsticks, light some candles, and let’s embark on this captivating journey through the magical world of August.
As the sun reaches its peak, August marks the beginning of autumn in the Wiccan Pagan calendar. It’s a time of transition, where the energies shift from the rapid growth of summer to the slow ripening of the harvest season. During this celestial month, the heavens are alive with activity, from two full moons to the alluring presence of the good neighbours, the Fairy Folk.
Celebrating Lammas – The Festival of Abundance
On the first of August, we embrace the joyous Lammas Festival, also known as Lughnasadh. It’s a time to celebrate the harvest and show gratitude to the bright shining God, Lugh, who bestowed agriculture upon humankind. Read my blog here about this fascinating subject for all things Lughnasadh.
Harnessing the Power of Ley Lines and Solar Energy
August 1st activates the Great Dragon Leyline across England, known as Michael’s lines. Learn about the potent energy that flows through this leyline and how you can connect with it for spiritual empowerment.
Embracing the Super Moons – Illuminating Your Path
August blesses us with not one but two super moons, filling the night skies with their ethereal glow. Explore the significance of these super moons in your magickal practices, and how you can harness their energies to enhance spells, rituals, and divination. Whether you’re seeking guidance or simply enjoying their celestial beauty, these lunar events are not to be missed!
Invoking the Fair Folk
As the Fairy reach the peak of their activity in August, we’ll delve into the lore and customs surrounding these mystical beings. Honour the fairies with offerings and thanksgiving for their aid in the harvest and abundance. This can easily be done with altars of thanksgiving, fairy loaves left upon the doorstep or simply breadcrumbs scattered around the home.
The Month of Brewing and The Magic of Hops
August is the perfect time for brewing, and hops are especially good to as a lucky charm. But you must bring them into your home with the proper ritual of carrying them into the house through then front door and leaving the house by the back. This will ensure luck remains with you for the rest of the year.
As we bid farewell to the sun’s peak and welcome the beginning of autumn, August opens its magical gates to an abundance of enchanting experiences. From the festivities of Lammas and the celestial wonders of super moons to the playful presence of the FAE and the power of ley lines, this month offers countless opportunities for spiritual growth and connection.
I hope this guide has provided you with a deeper understanding of the mystical possibilities that August holds. Remember, as witches, we are in tune with the cycles of nature, and by embracing the energies of this month, we can weave our magick and create a life filled with wonder and abundance.
